Next year, Simon & Schuster will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ray Bradbury’s classic dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451. It is a book that has remained meaningful, thought-provoking and relevant to every generation that reads it, regardless of how much the world has changed.

To help celebrate this momentous birthday, Simon & Schuster is launching a contest to redesign the iconic book jacket. The winning design will be used for the first print run of the anniversary edition in the spring of 2013, and the designer will be awarded $1,500!

Entries can be submitted and viewed on our dedicated Tumblr page: You can also find the full rules and guidelines there. We’ll be accepting submissions until November 30th, and the winner will be announced at the American Librarian Association Midwinter conference in January.

This is a great competition for a great novel. However, before anyone here gets too excited about entering a cover design, it appears in order to meet the submission criteria you must be a resident of the USA. A shame, as that rules out many of us from entry. Oh well. Good luck to any Americans who do wish to enter!
