Why not go nude? 
Have you thought about simply displaying your work in your portfolio without sleeves.

Why:
As designers we love the textural experience of touching paper directly.
Also you will be able to see the work clearly without hinderance. 

How:
If you are using a screw post portfolio case you can drill your portfolio printed pages to slip into the portfolio.
Or you could use a product from Pina Zangaro called adhesive hinged strips which stick onto your portfolio printed pages.
