Every year, the farmers and residents of a small town in Japan called Inkadate work together to create huge works of art in their paddy fields.
In May an army of volunteers plant a variety of different coloured rice in a precise patterns created on a computer. The rice field art is only visible until September when the rice is harvested. To see a time lapse video of the emerging artwork visit this link on YouTube.
