I first saw 'The Seed' by Johnny Kelly in a book in class, but didn't jot down any info about it. Luckily, I stumbled across it again when I was looking for inspiration.
The use of the mixed media between stop motion, paper crafted illustration and 2D illustration is so awesome and the creative process itself is just incredible. I love the contrast between the paper crafted illustration in color & the 2D illustration in black or white. I truly enjoy the technical, calculated and structured process of his work.
The pumping of the organs and the dissolving of the food in the digestive system created by paper to show the movement is amazing. I also love the different angles of the fold. (The sharper the degree of the fold, the stronger the edge and the wider the degree of the fold, the softer the edge). It shows you can get so much unique depth and dimension from a flat piece of paper.
Paper folding is AWESOME!!!
