I love the work of the Stockholm Design Lab, a well-named 10-year old Swedish studio that specializes in graphic design systems and corporate identity. What I like is the intelligence behind their designs, the clean look, the wit and the playfulness. Their modern, spare, colorful system for the Venice Biennale art show jumps out at you amidst the elaborate rich architecture of the city itself--a daring use of contrast. Their design for Japanese sake bottles cleverly conveys that the fewer the rice grains the higher the quality, in imagery that is modern, and has a traditional oriental feel. I'm sure the client appreciated the one-color cost-effective solution. My last example shows a series of catalogues, each different, but with a fun and elegant family feel. Bravo!
