After meeting at the Royal College of Art, Peter Grundy and Tilly Northedge launched a studio in 1980 to "do information design in a new and creative way". Grundini is an extension of their efforts to create simple solutions to communicate complex ideas. The designs displayed on Grundini.com are clean and striking, which works really well in an editorial setting - for example, the series of infographics for the Daily Telegraph on the topic of "Age of Energy" easily convey each sub-topic at first glance. Other editorial work includes covers for publications as diverse as Wired and New Civil Engineer, as well as pictograms for the Guardian supplement G2. Their map designs, while clear and informative, still manage to look interesting and fun.
