Jose Miguel Méndez is a Spanish graphic designer and illustrator who embodies a colourful and fun style. This quality is what is so captivating about his work. His playful and repetitive use of colour mean that a great level of contrast is created in his pieces. He has an interesting approach where he builds models of his typefaces and illustrations. Good to see that not only architects do it wit...

Design all-rounders Mogollon (pronounced Mo-go-yon, Spanish slang word for Plenty) operate out of New York City, producing work for art, film, music and fashion clients. I love how they mix vintage Vogue Magazine aesthetics with contemporary graphical flourishes and original font and logo designs. Highlights include their beautifully symmetrical self promotional work, and the packaging for K...

Anton is a recent graduate designer from Brooklyn NY. His treatment of type is really cool, it's abstract and layered and it gives his designs an urban feel. His use of colour is striking and creates some really nice contrast. Finally, I really love the textures, I think it gives his designs depth and feeling....

Noa Emberson aka Joy Stain. Noa lives in Maui, Hawai'i. He is a surfer/musician/illustrator/type creator and graphic designer and graduated from University of Hawai'i with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I like the layering effects he creates within his pieces. He is able to get lots of beautiful textures in without his work looking cluttered or overwhelmed. Many of Noa's proje...

Airport Studio is a design studio based in Utrecht in The Netherlands and made up of three Dutch lads - Vincent de Boer, Maurits Wouters and Bram Broerse. They work on a variety of projects including branding, editorial and web. I found them through typographyserved.com via a post entitled Tempting Typography - a workshop they held for a local graphic design festival. Their processes are fun and i...

Bogidar is a one very talented Spaniard! This 22 year old is fresh from graduating in Barcelona, and specialises in typography - in this particular example, impermanent typography. I love how he plays with the idea of something that seems so permanent, such as text/typography, and gives it an essence of fragility and transient being. ...

Zim and Zou are two awesome 25 year olds who have such a passion for working with their hands. All respect goes to them for the numerous hours spent on cutting and glueing these objects together with such intricate detail. Their choice of colour is so vivid; the sympathetic colour palette adds that extra zing to these paper objects. They work in Nancy specialising in paper sculpture, installat...

I'm really loving the simplicity of InHouse's designs. From the clever play on words, to the bold statements they make with their branding, all simply using type. They also make excellent use of contrast to make their designs pop....
